Woodland Park

One of our favorite locations to visit as it offers a plethora of backdrops and has one of the very best views of Pikes Peak and the western slope. You can get in the aspens and pine, as well as open fields and even Rampart Reservoir if you hike the 2 miles to get to it. The session ends on top of a tall grass-covered hill overlooking Pikes Peak and a massive sky to the west.

Easy to moderate hiking on mostly dirt paths.
The sunset spot is open and at 10,000ft so it can get chilly with wind for sure.
Have a coat available on most days.
There are no restrooms.
Bring plenty of water and snacks.
Some rough dirt road travel after Woodland Park

This spot is about a 40-minute drive from the west side of Colorado Springs but well worth the drive.
